Lefter Çağa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Kurtuluş Dilercan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. Ahmet Reha Özberk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurtuluş Dilercan in the 48th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Veli Ocak to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Üzeyir Hatipoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Okmeydani's supporters crossed their fingers, but Üzeyir Hatipoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kurtuluş Dilercan's late challenge caught a Okmeydani's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kurtuluş Dilercan helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Balikesir's Kurtuluş Dilercan got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Ahmet Reha Özberk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurtuluş Dilercan in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute of the match Balikesir got a corner. Okmeydani's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Battal Gazi İltemiz ran over to the corner to take the kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Okmeydani fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Balikesir had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
