Azim Yetkin made in the 4th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Tuncer Usbay however managed to control. Fikret Bozyiğit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kutlu Tacik having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Tuncer Usbay left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Güzelbahce fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Güzelbahce's goalkeeper Kutlu Tacik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fikret Bozyiğit. 18 minutes into the game, Yetkin Taşgan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Yavuz Spor's Yakup Kadri Dervişoğlu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Yetkin Taşgan fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Güzelbahce's protests and gave Yetkin Taşgan a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 played minutes Güzelbahce got a freekick which was hit by Yetkin Taşgan. After 25 played minutes Yavuz Spor got a freekick which was hit by Anıl Berk Bilgiç. Yetkin Taşgan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Anıl Berk Bilgiç had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cem Özbilek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fikret Bozyiğit recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fikret Bozyiğit made a kick off. Kutlu Tacik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fikret Bozyiğit in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Yavuz Spor's Nejat Kökşin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kutlu Tacik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fikret Bozyiğit in the 56th minute of play forced Güzelbahce's goalkeeper Kutlu Tacik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 minutes, Cem Özbilek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Güzelbahce and the Yavuz Spor players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th match minute, Güzelbahce was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cem Özbilek to maneuver through the defense. If Fikret Bozyiğit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ufuk Kudret came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Babür Yüce could save by the left post. Azim Yetkin made in the 68th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Yavuz Spor's Fikret Bozyiğit. Fikret Bozyiğit struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Kutlu Tacik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yavuz Spor. With a little luck, Yavuz Spor's Babür Yüce got control of the ball when Ufuk Kudret tried to sneak it across the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Yavuz Spor's goalkeeper Babür Yüce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ufuk Kudret. In the 79th minute Tuncer Usbay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Babür Yüce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, Azim Yetkin threw the ball into play from the sideline. Through an outstanding action, after 90 minutes, Babür Yüce successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Nejat Kökşin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Yavuz Spor manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Güzelbahce to win.
