AY YILDIZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yuri Postalkov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 9th minute, Özgür Sergen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. İlbey Dolunay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Şenol Tarık, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ankara SK's zone, Yuri Postalkov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cabbar Özbey came out of the goal and Yuri Postalkov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. AY YILDIZ's İlbey Dolunay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mehmet Anıl Başkurt in the 16th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, AY YILDIZ's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Anıl Başkurt came free, but İlbey Dolunay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Şenol Tarık shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but İlbey Dolunay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, László Beneš ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cabbar Özbey was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Mustafa İzzet Serdar hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes Ankara SK got a freekick which was hit by Özalp Tümen. Abdulkadir Kargin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Özgür Sergen during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 played minutes Ankara SK got a freekick which was hit by Özgür Sergen. After 43 minutes, Abdulkadir Kargin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AY YILDIZ and the Ankara SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. İlbey Dolunay was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The audience was convinced that Yuri Postalkov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cabbar Özbey was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. The supporters of Ankara SK booed when AY YILDIZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdulkadir Kargin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, Yuri Postalkov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AY YILDIZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Cemil Günay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şenol Tarık got free with İlbey Dolunay in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ankara SK succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though AY YILDIZ had controlled the match.
