After having played for 7 minutes, Ercüment Devan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denizlispor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ercüment Devan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee ignored Bostanli's protests and gave Merih Hizanlı a yellow card for diving instead. Fadıl Tulunay hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Korhan Sabih fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ege Uluer having to interfere. In the 21st minute of the match, Korhan Sabih tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ege Uluer saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
