The Sirkeci fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mahir İzhan should have stopped the shot. If Çelebi Refik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 21 played minutes Sirkeci got a freekick which was hit by Müjdat Ongay. Çelebi Refik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mahir İzhan having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Çelebi Refik in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mahir İzhan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Özgür Tulunay charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Özgür Tulunay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Özgür Tulunay kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sirkeci's goalkeeper Mahir İzhan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 40 minutes of play, Sirkeci's Özbek Şentürk made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mahir İzhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şansal Torel, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Özbek Şentürk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cengiz Cezlan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Müjdat Ongay was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Şansal Torel managed to get in a good position for a shot. GALATASARAY SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Şansal Torel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mahir İzhan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, GALATASARAY SK's Lütfü Özkul got a free kick in the 57th minute. Mahir İzhan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Özgür Tulunay showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 60 minute of play.
