Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Acar Gökalp started the match with the kick off. After 4 played minutes GALATASARAY SK got a freekick which was hit by Çelebi Refik. Alaaddin Alansoy hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute, Coşkun Kudret ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cengiz Cezlan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. GALATASARAY SK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Acar Gökalp scored to the left of an out of position Cengiz Cezlan, making the score, 2-0. Akgün Akel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cengiz Cezlan. GALATASARAY SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Saffet Temizsan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galatasaray's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GALATASARAY SK the free kick. The supporters of GALATASARAY SK booed when Galatasaray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saffet Temizsan didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Galatasaray getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. İsa Yanık hit a great ball. Recep Kırgız showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Çelebi Refik in the 33rd minute of the match. After 35 minutes of play, GALATASARAY SK's Çelebi Refik made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Recep Kırgız was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th match minute, GALATASARAY SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Özgür Tulunay to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Çelebi Refik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Recep Kırgız made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şansal Torel in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Çelebi Refik was the one to do the kick off. GALATASARAY SK's Şansal Torel got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's goal looked a bit too open when Çelebi Refik came free, but Recep Kırgız reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute, Çelebi Refik fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Recep Kırgız, passed just outside the right post. Baha Berkkan lost his temper 61 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Dilmen Engiay shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Galatasaray's Recep Kırgız played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Çelebi Refik in the 67th minute of play. Şansal Torel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Recep Kırgız having to interfere. Recep Kırgız made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Çelebi Refik in the 71st minute of play. When GALATASARAY SK's Çelebi Refik in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Saruhan Karaalp hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, one of Galatasaray:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Galatasaray. Recep Kırgız had in the 85thth minute some difficulties stopping Dilmen Engiay's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Coşkun Kudret came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Galatasaray fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Coşkun Kudret couldn't finish the play. Şensoy Ömür kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Şansal Torel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Recep Kırgız having to interfere. Şansal Torel struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Recep Kırgız didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GALATASARAY SK. Çelebi Refik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Recep Kırgız having to interfere. Şansal Torel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 102nd minute. Recep Kırgız tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Galatasaray support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
