That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. When Sungurbey Taner came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the AGO FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sungurbey Taner couldn't finish the play. Ataol Namık fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gürbüz Özen having to interfere. Bedih Tanbolat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sungurbey Taner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gürbüz Özen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ataol Namık, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Alişan Şahoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gani Taşer kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Bedih Tanbolat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gürbüz Özen having to interfere. The supporters of Trabzonspor booed when AGO FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Özgür İsiman didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was a well-played corner which Semail Mensur managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand.

Trabzonspor's Bedih Tanbolat got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ahmet Rıfat Kocakalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Trabzonspor's zone, Tanju Nuri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Halil Merih came out of the goal and Tanju Nuri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Bedih Tanbolat came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Trabzonspor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bedih Tanbolat couldn't finish the play. With his leg Gürbüz Özen managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Trabzonspor's Ataol Namık fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When AGO FK's Sungurbey Taner in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Trabzonspor's goalie prevented a goal. In the 97th minute Rıfkı Hedef shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Halil Merih saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
