The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Doğuş Tunçhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baybora Oytunç having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vefa UNITED FC's Enginalp Tekdoğan got a free kick in the 8th minute. Oğuzalp Makbul kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Sinan Tarık kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Emir Soner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Vefa UNITED FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Hakkı Candeğer hit a great ball. Vefa UNITED FC's Servet Afacan got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baybora Oytunç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Baybora Oytunç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fahrettin Çoğan in the 25th minute of play forced Vefa UNITED FC's goalkeeper Baybora Oytunç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Vefa UNITED FC's goal looked a bit too open when Doğuş Tunçhan came free, but Baybora Oytunç reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Servet Afacan made the kick off in the second half. Fahrettin Çoğan charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fahrettin Çoğan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. But to his dismay, Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 66 minutes into the game, Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Baybora Oytunç was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Doğuş Tunçhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Baybora Oytunç tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Müfit Onuk hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enginalp Tekdoğan charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enginalp Tekdoğan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of GALATASARAY booed when Vefa UNITED FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enginalp Tekdoğan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute of the match Sinan Tarık sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Baybora Oytunç skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baybora Oytunç was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Vefa UNITED FC's Baybora Oytunç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fahrettin Çoğan in the 85th minute of play. Nazım Mansız's late challenge caught a GALATASARAY's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nazım Mansız helped the player get up and apologised. The audience was convinced that Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baybora Oytunç was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Baybora Oytunç came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by GALATASARAY's Doğuş Tunçhan. But to his dismay, Doğuş Tunçhan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. GALATASARAY had played much better football throughout.
