The GALATASARAY fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when GALATASARAY's Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Çakabey Ayana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baybars Baytekin in the 17th minute of play. Tamer Özgener took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Furkan Bircanoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Doğuş Tunçhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sinan Tarık's late challenge caught a Feneryolu FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sinan Tarık helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th match minute, GALATASARAY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sinan Tarık to maneuver through the defense. Çakabey Ayana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Furkan Bircanoğlu in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute Baybars Baytekin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Çakabey Ayana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. GALATASARAY's Fahrettin Çoğan got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tamer Özgener having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fahrettin Çoğan in the 40th minute of play forced Feneryolu FK's goalkeeper Tamer Özgener to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, GALATASARAY's goalkeeper Çakabey Ayana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Süleyman Cinel. In the 43rdth minute of the game Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Feneryolu FK's Tamer Özgener was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baybars Baytekin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Baybars Baytekin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Çakabey Ayana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sinan Tarık received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tamer Özgener came out and tried to block the shot, but Sinan Tarık slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 54th minute. In the 58th minute, Baybars Baytekin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Feneryolu FK's goalkeeper Tamer Özgener had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin. After a defensive mix-up in Feneryolu FK's zone, Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tamer Özgener came out of the goal and Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th minute, Sinan Tarık got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tamer Özgener prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tamer Özgener. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mustafa Kemal Demirtekin ran back to his position shaking his head. Feneryolu FK's Tamer Özgener proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Feneryolu FK from getting a goal against them. GALATASARAY's Çakabey Ayana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baybars Baytekin in the 78th minute of play. Çakabey Ayana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Süleyman Cinel in the 79th minute of the match. When Fahrettin Çoğan came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the GALATASARAY fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fahrettin Çoğan couldn't finish the play. Feneryolu FK's Tamer Özgener played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doğuş Tunçhan in the 94th minute of play. Tamer Özgener didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 97th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. GALATASARAY's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
