The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zlatan Muratović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sabri Vacip got free with Gianluca Buffon in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Akgün Sanih took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Haydar Ağçelik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zlatan Muratović recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 12 minutes, Adil Ak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GÖZTEPE A.Ş and the Nusaybin spor players grew even worse after the yellow card. Adil Ak hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Gianluca Buffon made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Sabri Vacip sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th minute Zlatan Muratović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Akgün Sanih saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. GÖZTEPE A.Ş's Akgün Sanih played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zlatan Muratović in the 20th minute of play. Akgün Sanih stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Behram Budak's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After having played for 22 minutes, İlhan Ayıkoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GÖZTEPE A.Ş's supporters crossed their fingers, but İlhan Ayıkoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sabri Vacip received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Gianluca Buffon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gianluca Buffon made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Sabri Vacip sent off a good shot on target. When Behram Budak came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Nusaybin spor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Behram Budak couldn't finish the play. Zlatan Muratović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gianluca Buffon came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by GÖZTEPE A.Ş's İlhan Ayıkoğlu. But to his dismay, İlhan Ayıkoğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If İlhan Ayıkoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zlatan Muratović was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Zlatan Muratović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
