After some careless play in the Mahrez defense, Yetkiner Sertuğ kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Şevket Hünkar. The Mahrez fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Şevket Hünkar should have stopped the shot. If Cabbar Kayraalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. Mahrez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bursaspor the free kick. After a rather tough play, Mahrez's Necati Ergünay got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 58th minute Cahit Akay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şevket Hünkar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Numan Garipbaş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şevket Hünkar having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Mahrez's goal looked a bit too open when Yetkiner Sertuğ came free, but Şevket Hünkar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cahit Akay in the 76th minute of play forced Mahrez's goalkeeper Şevket Hünkar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Cahit Akay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bursaspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Cabbar Kayraalp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Şevket Hünkar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bursaspor fully deserved thier win.
