Bülent Adalı took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mustafa Zeki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the game, Alemdar Kabataş was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ordu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inönü the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, Ordu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alemdar Kabataş to maneuver through the defense. Ahmet İlke Fidan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saadettin Haymanalı having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Günalp Hazlan was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Ordu's Günalp Hazlan got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After 56 played minutes, Inönü's Tevfik Beytekin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bülent Adalı came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Inönü reached it. Bican Münib recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 71 played minutes Inönü got a freekick which was hit by Serhat Akkın. 77 minutes into the game, Serhat Akkın was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
