The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ankaragücü's Hurşit Durukan got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hurşit Durukan in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tolga Bilge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hurşit Durukan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tolga Bilge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Bilgehan Erşahan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Yağızhan Canel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hurşit Durukan might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tolga Bilge. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hurşit Durukan ran back to his position shaking his head. 17 minutes into the match, Tasova JK's goal looked a bit too open when Hurşit Durukan came free, but Tolga Bilge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Hurşit Durukan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tolga Bilge was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doğa Özdoruk in the 23rd minute of play forced Tasova JK's goalkeeper Tolga Bilge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tolga Bilge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yağızhan Canel made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Bilgehan Erşahan sent off a good shot on target.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hurşit Durukan to make the kick off. Bilgehan Erşahan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yağızhan Canel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Doğa Özdoruk in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Bilgehan Erşahan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yağızhan Canel having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Tasova JK's zone, Hurşit Durukan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tolga Bilge came out of the goal and Hurşit Durukan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tolga Bilge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hurşit Durukan in the 90th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Tasova JK's Bora Han Tankut got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doğa Özdoruk got free with Tolga Bilge in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Ankaragücü supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ankaragücü would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
