The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ahmet Ali Gümüşcü's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kamil Tecmil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Hazım Safer's late challenge caught a Mersin İdman Yurdu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hazım Safer helped the player get up and apologised. 10 minutes into the match, Mersin İdman Yurdu's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Ali Gümüşcü came free, but Kamil Tecmil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes in the game, Mehmet Emin Belek fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ahmet Efe Baştürk having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Derebucak FK's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Emin Belek came free, but Ahmet Efe Baştürk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehmet Emin Belek in the 18th minute of play forced Derebucak FK's goalkeeper Ahmet Efe Baştürk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Mehmet Emin Belek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kamil Tecmil came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Derebucak FK's Ahmet Ali Gümüşcü. But to his dismay, Ahmet Ali Gümüşcü quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Derebucak FK's Ahmet Efe Baştürk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mehmet Emin Belek in the 28th minute of play. Eşref Oğuzhan kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ahmet Ali Gümüşcü's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kamil Tecmil was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When Derebucak FK's Mete Cintay in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mersin İdman Yurdu's goalie prevented a goal. In the 42nd minute, Lokman Torhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the match, Mersin İdman Yurdu's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Ali Gümüşcü came free, but Kamil Tecmil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th match minute, Derebucak FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eşref Oğuzhan to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Mehmet Emin Belek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ahmet Efe Baştürk having to make a save. Ahmet Efe Baştürk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olgun Nusrettin in the 58th minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Kutluay Betim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Derebucak FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mersin İdman Yurdu the free kick. 63 minutes into the game, one of Derebucak FK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Mersin İdman Yurdu getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Berk Işıldar hit a great ball. Mete Cintay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kamil Tecmil came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Derebucak FK's Ahmet Ali Gümüşcü. But to his dismay, Ahmet Ali Gümüşcü quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After 78 played minutes Derebucak FK got a freekick which was hit by Mehmet Bedri Onuktekin. Ahmet Efe Baştürk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehmet Emin Belek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Mersin İdman Yurdu's zone, Mete Cintay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kamil Tecmil came out of the goal and Mete Cintay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Olgun Nusrettin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mehmet Emin Belek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olgun Nusrettin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ahmet Efe Baştürk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Derebucak FK's Mete Cintay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kamil Tecmil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chants of Derebucak FK echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Mersin İdman Yurdu had held the ball for most of the match.
