The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Biagio Di Cicco during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to GS&EZER&SK getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Biagio Di Cicco hit a great ball. Mecnun İlsu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Veysel Bahçeli in the 18th minute of play. Kutay Servet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Resul Kutyan in the 23rd minute of the match. With 26 minutes on the clock, Batıray Boysan commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of GS&EZER&SK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FENERBAHÇE:s goal. Tuncay Akgöl recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Tuncay Akgöl came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the FENERBAHÇE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tuncay Akgöl couldn't finish the play. If Tacettin İncel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Tacettin İncel managed to get in a good position for a shot. GS&EZER&SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Tacettin İncel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kutay Servet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ediz Akçakaya struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Kutay Servet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GS&EZER&SK. FENERBAHÇE's Kutay Servet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tacettin İncel in the 41st minute of play. Mecnun İlsu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tuncay Akgöl in the 44th minute. Mecnun İlsu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Veysel Bahçeli in the 45th minute of play. Tuncay Akgöl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Mecnun İlsu made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tacettin İncel made a kick off. After 55 minutes, Tacettin İncel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GS&EZER&SK and the FENERBAHÇE players grew even worse after the yellow card. 58 minutes into the match, FENERBAHÇE's goal looked a bit too open when Biagio Di Cicco came free, but Kutay Servet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
