Enginsu Şahinalp's late challenge caught a Mihalgazi JK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enginsu Şahinalp helped the player get up and apologised. After 26 played minutes Birecik got a freekick which was hit by Enginsu Şahinalp. An unexpectedly hard shot by Turgut Doğangün in the 31st minute of play forced Mihalgazi JK's goalkeeper Ertaç Altunhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 minutes, Hamdullah Taykurt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mihalgazi JK and the Birecik players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th minute, Hamdullah Taykurt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the match, Turgut Doğangün notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Mihalgazi JK's Ertaç Altunhan. Ertaç Altunhan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

51 minutes into the match, Mihalgazi JK's goal looked a bit too open when Turgut Doğangün came free, but Ertaç Altunhan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 52 minutes into the game, Gürkan Vala was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mihalgazi JK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birecik the free kick. The supporters of Birecik booed when Mihalgazi JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gürkan Vala didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 54 played minutes Mihalgazi JK got a freekick which was hit by Talha Rakim. Ramiz Akın, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Mihalgazi JK getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Feyyaz Kalender hit a great ball. Muzaffer Koray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feyyaz Kalender, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Birecik booed when Mihalgazi JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Talha Rakim didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Turgut Doğangün lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Ertaç Altunhan. Mihalgazi JK's Ertaç Altunhan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Mihalgazi JK from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Birecik's Bektaş Uluberk got a free kick in the 87th minute. Feyyaz Kalender received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Muzaffer Koray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 93 minutes, Turgut Doğangün managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Birecik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Turgut Doğangün was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Birecik supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Birecik would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
