Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tamer Rafiz started the match with the kick off. After having played for 3 minutes, Saruhan Okanay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mecidiyeköy SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saruhan Okanay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sefa Kolçak might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alpertunga Oksay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sefa Kolçak ran back to his position shaking his head. Alpertunga Oksay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tamer Rafiz in the 7th minute of play. After having played for 8 minutes, Aşkın Kurtuluş managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sskısparta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aşkın Kurtuluş was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Tamer Rafiz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alpertunga Oksay. Mecidiyeköy SK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tamer Rafiz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 13 minutes, Hikmet Remiz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sskısparta and the Mecidiyeköy SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sskısparta's Hikmet Remiz got a free kick in the 13th minute. Ahmet Necdet İlsu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saruhan Okanay went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Aşkın Kurtuluş hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Tamer Rafiz took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alpertunga Oksay. Alpertunga Oksay dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 23rd minute Saruhan Okanay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Necdet İlsu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sskısparta's Ahmet Necdet İlsu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Galip Kudretullah in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by İzzet İslamoğlu in the 28th minute of play forced Sskısparta's goalkeeper Ahmet Necdet İlsu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sefa Kolçak came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Sskısparta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sefa Kolçak couldn't finish the play. 32 minutes into the game, Batu Cem Özben cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Ahmet Necdet İlsu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 37th minute, Aşkın Kurtuluş got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Umur Harmancı hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Tamer Rafiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alpertunga Oksay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tamer Rafiz ran back to his position shaking his head. Ahmet Necdet İlsu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Batu Cem Özben in the 42nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Sskısparta defense, Batu Cem Özben kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ahmet Necdet İlsu. The Sskısparta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahmet Necdet İlsu should have stopped the shot. Ahmet Necdet İlsu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saruhan Okanay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Batu Cem Özben was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute of the game, Tamer Rafiz landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Alpertunga Oksay had in the 58thth minute some difficulties stopping Ferdi Battal's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The audience was convinced that Karadeniz Toran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alpertunga Oksay was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Ahmet Necdet İlsu made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Saruhan Okanay sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Saruhan Okanay got free with Ahmet Necdet İlsu in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th minute, Sefa Kolçak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A throw-in in the 70th minute of the game was made by Batur Dindar with Batu Cem Özben as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 77th minute, Ali Galip Kudretullah got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aşkın Kurtuluş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hikmet Remiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alpertunga Oksay having to interfere. Karadeniz Toran blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alpertunga Oksay having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Saruhan Okanay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ahmet Necdet İlsu was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karadeniz Toran in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alpertunga Oksay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Saruhan Okanay got free with Ahmet Necdet İlsu in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karadeniz Toran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Alpertunga Oksay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sefa Kolçak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mecidiyeköy SK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
