Spectators: 7303 (Terracing: 5478, Seating: 1680, VIP seats: 145) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Batu Cem Özben started the match with the kick off. After 5th play minutes Saruhan Okanay shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Behçet Ünalan and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 8th minute, Batu Cem Özben ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Behçet Ünalan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 15 minutes into the match, Batu Cem Özben notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Marmaraspor's Behçet Ünalan. Behçet Ünalan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Olgun Öztan kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Alpertunga Oksay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Koralp Balta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ziya Onur Oktar during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Ziya Onur Oktar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Behçet Ünalan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Batu Cem Özben in the 29th minute of the match. Olgun Öztan hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Behçet Ünalan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saruhan Okanay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 42 minutes, İzzet İslamoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mecidiyeköy SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but İzzet İslamoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saruhan Okanay in the 46th minute of play forced Marmaraspor's goalkeeper Behçet Ünalan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hasret Humbaracıbaşı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Alpertunga Oksay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hasret Humbaracıbaşı made a kick off. The throw-in from Fahrettin Rafiz in the 54th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Marmaraspor's Berke Akasoy. Hasret Humbaracıbaşı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Alpertunga Oksay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Behçet Ünalan made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Saruhan Okanay sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Marmaraspor's zone, Batu Cem Özben stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Behçet Ünalan came out of the goal and Batu Cem Özben tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ali Galip Kudretullah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Behçet Ünalan having to interfere. Behçet Ünalan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saruhan Okanay went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Batu Cem Özben sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Marmaraspor's Behçet Ünalan got control of the ball when Saruhan Okanay tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as İzzet İslamoğlu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Behçet Ünalan. That made the score 0-5 in the 74 minute of play. Behçet Ünalan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Batu Cem Özben in the 78th minute of the match. Behçet Ünalan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Galip Kudretullah in the 80th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Saruhan Okanay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Behçet Ünalan. Marmaraspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saruhan Okanay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Behçet Ünalan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Galip Kudretullah, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute, İzzet İslamoğlu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mecidiyeköy SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. When Batu Cem Özben came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Mecidiyeköy SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Batu Cem Özben couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Mecidiyeköy SK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Marmaraspor throughout the match.
