Izmir's Seçkin Ökmen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adnan Uma in the 8th minute of play. Adnan Uma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Torbali's zone, Hakkı Onur Ersal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Macit Taceddin came out of the goal and Hakkı Onur Ersal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 22 in the game by Haldun Deren from a close distance when the talented Ali Macit Taceddin managed to make a qualified save. Torbali's players were relieved. When Izmir's Haldun Deren in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Torbali's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Haldun Deren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Izmir's supporters rose to their feet, but Haldun Deren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ali Macit Taceddin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Izmir booed when Torbali was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erbatur Ünalan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Izmir's Dinç Acar couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Torbali. In the 34th match minute, Torbali was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sabri Hatırlı to maneuver through the defense. Hakkı Onur Ersal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Torbali's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Haldun Deren 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Haldun Deren made the kick off in the second half. When Izmir's Haldun Deren in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Torbali's goalie prevented a goal. Ali Macit Taceddin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haldun Deren's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Haldun Temizcan struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Seçkin Ökmen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Torbali. Haldun Deren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 2-0 became the score in the 66th minute when Haldun Deren elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ali Macit Taceddin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hakkı Onur Ersal, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Hakkı Onur Ersal struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Ali Macit Taceddin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Izmir. After 84 played minutes Torbali got a freekick which was hit by Erbatur Ünalan. Izmir's Hakkı Onur Ersal got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Izmir getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Haldun Deren hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Haldun Temizcan got free with Seçkin Ökmen in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Hakkı Onur Ersal came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Izmir fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hakkı Onur Ersal couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Izmir fully deserved thier win.
