Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Feridun Oker got the match started through his kick off. After 2 played minutes GÖZTEPE got a freekick which was hit by Dinç Altunışık. After a defensive mix-up in GÖZTEPE's zone, Feridun Oker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Güngör Ökmener came out of the goal and Feridun Oker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 8 minutes into the match, GÖZTEPE's Rüştü Yavuzalp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hamit Bircanoğlu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ahmet Yahya Tekin kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind skgalatasaray's goalkeeper Hamit Bircanoğlu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rüştü Yavuzalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Hamit Bircanoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute of the match, Abdurrahim Çağlar tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hamit Bircanoğlu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, GÖZTEPE's Batıkan Gündeş got a free kick in the 24th minute. A collision led to GÖZTEPE getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Rüştü Yavuzalp hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes skgalatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Feridun Oker. Hamit Bircanoğlu didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 28th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Rüştü Yavuzalp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Hamit Bircanoğlu made a huge save. After 39 played minutes GÖZTEPE got a freekick which was hit by Dinç Altunışık. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Işıkalp Kayrar managed to get in a good position for a shot. skgalatasaray's supporters rose to their feet, but Işıkalp Kayrar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Güngör Ökmener breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Işıkalp Kayrar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind skgalatasaray's goalkeeper Hamit Bircanoğlu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Hamit Bircanoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rüştü Yavuzalp in the 55th minute of play. After 58 minutes of play, GÖZTEPE's Rüştü Yavuzalp made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hamit Bircanoğlu was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to skgalatasaray getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Işıkalp Kayrar hit a great ball. During the 62nd minute of the match Dinç Altunışık completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dinç Altunışık a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Feridun Oker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Güngör Ökmener tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Feridun Oker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peyami Topçam kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. When Hamza Batüralp fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GÖZTEPE's protests and gave Hamza Batüralp a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th minute, Hamza Batüralp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, skgalatasaray's Resulhan Çetinoz tried to score from far away in the 77th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Feridun Oker came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the skgalatasaray fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Feridun Oker couldn't finish the play. GÖZTEPE's Rüştü Yavuzalp got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, skgalatasaray's Güngör Ökmener threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Feridun Oker, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 87 played minutes GÖZTEPE got a freekick which was hit by Gökberk Özsel. In the 94th minute Feridun Oker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Güngör Ökmener saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. GÖZTEPE's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
