The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Enginsu Akkılıç managed to get in a good position for a shot. Serhan Erokay came out of the goal and Enginsu Akkılıç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Umur Zeynel came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Fenerbahçe S.K. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Umur Zeynel couldn't finish the play. Gencal Kuvvet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Onurhan Ergintuğ in the 19th minute of play. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Gencal Kuvvet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Onurhan Ergintuğ in the 22nd minute of play. Etiler SK were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Fenerbahçe S.K.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Saadettin Hoyrat took the corner. Etiler SK's Saadettin Hoyrat was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gencal Kuvvet in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 28 minutes into the match, Etiler SK's goal looked a bit too open when Enginsu Akkılıç came free, but Serhan Erokay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Etiler SK booed when Fenerbahçe S.K. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lütfi Tuğalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Etiler SK's zone, Emirşah Balıkçıoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gencal Kuvvet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saadettin Hoyrat in the 92nd minute of the match. Orhan Seyfi Sabuncu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Gencal Kuvvet when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
