Mürsel Kutam stood somewhat misplaced when Ziya Onur Saruhan came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 11 minute. 13 minutes into the match, Sakaryaspor FK's goal looked a bit too open when Ziya Onur Saruhan came free, but Mürsel Kutam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bilge Kağan Veysi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bilge Kağan Veysi in the 19th minute of play forced Kozan SK's goalkeeper Mehmet Bilgehan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sakaryaspor FK's Mürsel Kutam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ziya Onur Saruhan in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Bilge Kağan Veysi notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Kozan SK's Mehmet Bilgehan. Mehmet Bilgehan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kozan SK's Ziya Onur Saruhan got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sakaryaspor FK's Batu Cem Radi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Yalçın Demiralp in the 29 minute of the game. After 33 minutes of play, Sakaryaspor FK's Bilge Kağan Veysi made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mehmet Bilgehan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ziya Onur Saruhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Mürsel Kutam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ziya Onur Saruhan struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Mürsel Kutam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kozan SK. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ziya Onur Saruhan to make the kick off. Mürsel Kutam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ziya Onur Saruhan in the 60th minute of play. Osman Taşdan struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Mürsel Kutam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kozan SK. After 64 minutes, Batu Cem Radi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sakaryaspor FK and the Kozan SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sakaryaspor FK's Batu Cem Radi got a free kick in the 64th minute. Bilge Kağan Veysi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Mehmet Bilgehan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Ziya Onur Saruhan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mehmet Bilgehan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bilge Kağan Veysi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute of the match, Bilge Kağan Veysi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mehmet Bilgehan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mürsel Kutam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ziya Onur Saruhan, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Bilge Kağan Veysi came free with the goalkeeper in the 85th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mehmet Bilgehan could save by the left post. In the 92nd minute, Bilge Kağan Veysi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sakaryaspor FK were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Kozan SK's much stronger midfield.
