After a defensive mix-up in Ego's zone, Göktürk Sağman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mehmet Şefik Hazlan came out of the goal and Göktürk Sağman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Mehmet Oğuz Kutan fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ego's protests and gave Mehmet Oğuz Kutan a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Demiralp Ergün during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mehmet Şefik Hazlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Göktürk Sağman in the 66th minute of the match. In the 87th minute, Lefter Özbey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Göktürk Sağman in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mehmet Şefik Hazlan saved Ego from getting behind. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Konya's Kartal Tacal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fevzi Oran in the 101st minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Konya players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
