Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Saruhan Sabih made the kick off and thus started the match. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Karsiyaka's Tayyar Özgurcan in the 10th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Ahmet Harun Tezeren was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Gençlik through an amazing save. In the 12th minute, Gürhan Avşar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Şadi Erçetin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saruhan Sabih in the 16th minute of the match. The referee gave Gençlik a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Selim Refettin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Karsiyaka's Şadi Erçetin. 2-1. In the 27thth minute of the game Devran Yaban who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gençlik's Ahmet Harun Tezeren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 29 minutes, Tayyar Özgurcan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karsiyaka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tayyar Özgurcan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 44 minutes, Cihat Songur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gençlik and the Karsiyaka players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Gençlik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cihat Songur to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute of the match Müfit Şemsifer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ahmet Harun Tezeren skillfully saved the ball. Şadi Erçetin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saruhan Sabih in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Devran Yaban was the one to do the kick off. Ahmet Harun Tezeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Devran Yaban in the 55th minute of play. Şadi Erçetin made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Necmettin Ergümen sent off a good shot on target. 60 minutes into the match, Karsiyaka's goalkeeper Şadi Erçetin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Necmettin Ergümen. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Necmettin Ergümen sped through Karsiyaka's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Şadi Erçetin. Şadi Erçetin acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cihat Songur. In the 71st minute, Müfit Şemsifer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute, Gençlik's Saruhan Sabih dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gençlik eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
