DerinDarbe's Uluç Oyalp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Azmi İribaş in the 19th minute of play. Ronny Mårtensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Suphi Balbay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orhan Seyfi Özbala struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Suphi Balbay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DerinDarbe. After a rather tough play, DerinDarbe's Alparslan Savaş got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 32 played minutes DerinDarbe got a freekick which was hit by Suat Erensoy. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Orhan Seyfi Özbala managed to get in a good position for a shot. DerinDarbe's supporters rose to their feet, but Orhan Seyfi Özbala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Suphi Balbay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the DerinDarbe defense, Bahadırhan Celilay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Uluç Oyalp. The DerinDarbe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Uluç Oyalp should have stopped the shot. In the 46thth minute of the game Orhan Seyfi Özbala who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cumhuriyet SPOR's Suphi Balbay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Azmi İribaş was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Suat Erensoy got free with Suphi Balbay in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
