Spectators: 7180 (Terracing: 5387, Seating: 1651, VIP seats: 142) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hulusi Gülerce took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe SK's Sercan Bilgiç got a free kick in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Fikirtepe's zone, Gürel Kantara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rıdvan Alpaslan came out of the goal and Gürel Kantara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cihat Taşdan during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Fenerbahçe SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cihat Taşdan to maneuver through the defense. Suphi Çağakan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the last second Aytek Aşkın throw himself and got hold of the ball when Suphi Çağakan in the 16thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When Suphi Çağakan fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fikirtepe's protests and gave Suphi Çağakan a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fenerbahçe SK booed when Fikirtepe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Suphi Çağakan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rıdvan Alpaslan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hulusi Gülerce, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. If Hulusi Gülerce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aytek Aşkın took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suphi Çağakan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the game, Serdar Talu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fikirtepe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fenerbahçe SK the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fikirtepe fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! In the 36th minute there was a penalty for Fenerbahçe SK. Afşar İkinci stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rıdvan Alpaslan. 0-1. 43 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe SK's goal looked a bit too open when Suphi Çağakan came free, but Aytek Aşkın reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fenerbahçe SK's Aytek Aşkın proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Fenerbahçe SK from getting a goal against them.

The wind increased when Suphi Çağakan made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Fenerbahçe SK getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Cihat Taşdan hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Suphi Çağakan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aytek Aşkın saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Suphi Çağakan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aytek Aşkın was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Fenerbahçe SK's Aytek Aşkın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doğuhan Sayılgan in the 66th minute of play. Hulusi Gülerce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cihat Taşdan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hulusi Gülerce in the 81st minute of play forced Fikirtepe's goalkeeper Rıdvan Alpaslan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rıdvan Alpaslan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hulusi Gülerce in the 83rd minute of play. Fenerbahçe SK were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Fikirtepe's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Afşar İkinci took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Afşar İkinci got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rıdvan Alpaslan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Suphi Çağakan struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Aytek Aşkın didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fikirtepe. Rıdvan Alpaslan came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Fenerbahçe SK's Gürel Kantara. But to his dismay, Gürel Kantara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Fenerbahçe SK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
