In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hatay's goalkeeper Ersan Topel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, Ediz Özarı had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ersan Topel. Hatay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ediz Özarı was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Vacib Mazlum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ali Haydar Usun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vacib Mazlum fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Haydar Usun having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Derinkuyu's zone, Karadeniz Kutberk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Haydar Usun came out of the goal and Karadeniz Kutberk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karadeniz Kutberk to strike the kick off in the second half. Ali Haydar Usun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karadeniz Kutberk, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the game, Hatay's Karadeniz Kutberk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
