After 19 minutes of play, FENERBAHÇE's Yüce Server made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mürsel Zeyyat to make the kick off. Şinasi Ergüner's late challenge caught a FENERBAHÇE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Birol Tatar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murathan Ortaç, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. If Yüce Server had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
