To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Seyfi Kazakhan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rıfkı Budaklı in the 28th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, FC Bayern München's Ali Faruk Denizhan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Orbay Ugraş narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Kocaelispor's goalkeeper Orbay Ugraş had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mutlu Canay. 45 minutes into the game, Melik Vedat was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Bayern München's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kocaelispor the free kick. After 45 played minutes FC Bayern München got a freekick which was hit by Melik Vedat. It was beautiful to see Kocaelispor's Özal Ömürcan in action when he in the 47th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance!

After having played for 69 minutes, Türker Tokyay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kocaelispor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Türker Tokyay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st minute, Türker Tokyay fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpected shot in the 73rd minute by Rıfkı Budaklı got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Seyfi Kazakhan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Batu Mirza. In the 76th minute, Kocaelispor's Türker Tokyay dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. If Ali Faruk Denizhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Recai Lebib received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Orbay Ugraş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Bayern München's Mutlu Canay got a free kick in the 85th minute. Recai Lebib sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Türker Tokyay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kocaelispor's supporters rose to their feet, but Türker Tokyay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Seyfi Kazakhan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Seyfi Kazakhan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rıfkı Budaklı in the 92nd minute.
