Bedir Taykara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Bekir Mevlit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st match minute, Yamanlar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sabri Hacısalihoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Yamanlar's Bedir Taykara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dursun Demiralp in the 26th minute of play. Yamanlar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Göztepe the free kick. The supporters of Göztepe booed when Yamanlar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hakkı Devrim Özbilir didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Yamanlar defense, Dursun Demiralp kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bedir Taykara. The Yamanlar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bedir Taykara should have stopped the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dursun Demiralp made a kick off. If Nazım Ogansoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yamanlar's Çakabey Hekim got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Göztepe's zone, Ahmet Boran Tansoy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Şentürk Peker came out of the goal and Ahmet Boran Tansoy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 66th minute, but Bedir Taykara got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Yamanlar hanging dry this time. Nazım Ogansoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dursun Demiralp succeeded in the game's 77th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. Abdülhak Gence hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. A collision led to Yamanlar getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Şerif Yaşar hit a great ball. If Nazım Ogansoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Göztepe's Dursun Demiralp slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bedir Taykara. That made the score 1-3 after 92 minutes of play. The Göztepe players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
