With a little luck, Beşiktaş's Abdullah Sergen got control of the ball when Furkan Ulusoy tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mustafa Ali Yalım during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gökçen Tun in the 35th minute of play forced GALATASARAY SK's goalkeeper Ali Erdem Zevahir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beşiktaş's Abdullah Sergen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Harun Haspolatlı in the 37th minute of play. In the 48th minute, Recep Rafiz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Abdullah Sergen. The goal made the score 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gökçen Tun was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, GALATASARAY SK's Ahmet Harun Haspolatlı got a free kick in the 54th minute. The supporters of Beşiktaş booed when GALATASARAY SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beşiktaş's Mirkelam Şahinter shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 85th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ali Erdem Zevahir but with some difficulty. GALATASARAY SK had won after a very even match.
