A hard shot 3 in the game by Ergün Bakırhan from a close distance when the talented Ahmet Reha Işıldar managed to make a qualified save. Taskent's players were relieved. Turgay Sarih received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Ahmet Reha Işıldar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Turgay Sarih recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ahmet Reha Işıldar. Turgay Sarih showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Ergün Bakırhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Reha Işıldar having to interfere. Turgay Sarih might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmet Reha Işıldar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Turgay Sarih ran back to his position shaking his head. Pars Çokay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilmi Mesut, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Müslüm Bardakçı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Pars Çokay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ergün Bakırhan got free with Ahmet Reha Işıldar in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 32 minutes, Turgay Sarih managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celtik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Turgay Sarih was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hilmi Mesut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Pars Çokay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 41 played minutes Celtik got a freekick which was hit by Mert Ciner. Pars Çokay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hilmi Mesut's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Ahmet Korkut Yazargil kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Müslüm Bardakçı blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pars Çokay having to make a save. 59 minutes into the match, Celtik's goalkeeper Pars Çokay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hilmi Mesut. Ahmet Reha Işıldar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ergün Bakırhan, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, Taskent's İbrahim Dolunay got a free kick in the 64th minute. When Ergün Bakırhan came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Celtik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ergün Bakırhan couldn't finish the play. After 68 played minutes Celtik got a freekick which was hit by Kasım Nesil. If Ahmet Korkut Yazargil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hilmi Mesut scored 1-2 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pars Çokay, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 87 minutes, Ergün Bakırhan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celtik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ergün Bakırhan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Müslüm Bardakçı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Müslüm Bardakçı got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ceyhun Serafet during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Taskent supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Taskent would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
