In the 32nd minute Şemsettin Aşkın shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Asım Suheyl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, FORESTER FK's Erdoğan Özakan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Şenol Sabih narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, Merinos's goal looked a bit too open when Numan Benli came free, but Şenol Sabih reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Numan Benli's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Şenol Sabih firmly grabbed it by the left post.
