A collision led to Varto getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Necip Fazıl Zihni hit a great ball. Düzici's Vahap İğdemir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by İskender Baki Çapan in the 6th minute of play. Vahap İğdemir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Turan Nurettin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atıf Ünalp hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. When Turan Nurettin came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Varto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Turan Nurettin couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the match, Düzici's goal looked a bit too open when Turan Nurettin came free, but Vahap İğdemir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Güral İltemir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Düzici's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Varto the free kick. Güral İltemir hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Varto's Tayyar Ceberut couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 19th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Düzici. In the 21st match minute, Düzici was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Güral İltemir to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Varto's zone, Necmettin Kaygun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hakkı Devrim İpekçi came out of the goal and Necmettin Kaygun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atıf Ünalp's late challenge caught a Varto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atıf Ünalp helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Varto getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Mehmet Fatih Belen hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, Zülfikar Bektaş sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Hakkı Devrim İpekçi threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Zülfikar Bektaş this time. If Ali Asım Hanedan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 36th minute Turan Nurettin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vahap İğdemir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 played minutes Varto got a freekick which was hit by Mehmet Fatih Belen. İskender Baki Çapan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Varto's Mehmet Bilge Çolakoğlu got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Ali Asım Hanedan made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Necmettin Kaygun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hakkı Devrim İpekçi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Düzici's Vahap İğdemir got control of the ball when İskender Baki Çapan tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 70th minute by Turan Nurettin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Varto's Mehmet Fatih Belen got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the match, Varto's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Asım Hanedan came free, but Hakkı Devrim İpekçi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vahap İğdemir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Turan Nurettin in the 75th minute of play. When Atıf Ünalp was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. After 85 played minutes Düzici got a freekick which was hit by Atıf Ünalp. İskender Baki Çapan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Turan Nurettin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vahap İğdemir having to interfere. If Turan Nurettin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. İskender Baki Çapan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ceyhun Yücealp kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Varto's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
