The goalkeeper, Yağız Akkın, was totally fooled by MeskunMahall's Doğan Bakırhan, who 9 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. MeskunMahall's Azmi Sungurtekin got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Yağız Akkın made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emirhan Arkan in the 13th minute. Ayhan Başeskioğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orkun Ünsi in the 14th minute of play. Ahmet Göktuğ Sulhi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ayhan Başeskioğlu having to interfere. When Kubat Ayazoğlu came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Melikgazi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kubat Ayazoğlu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orkun Ünsi in the 29th minute of play forced MeskunMahall's goalkeeper Ayhan Başeskioğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emirhan Arkan kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Melikgazi's goal looked a bit too open when Abdulbaki Yay came free, but Yağız Akkın reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orkun Ünsi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kubat Ayazoğlu struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Ayhan Başeskioğlu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Melikgazi. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Erkut Ongar made the kick off in the second half. Melikgazi's Yağız Akkın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emirhan Arkan in the 54th minute of play. Yağız Akkın showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erkut Ongar in the 58th minute of the match. MeskunMahall's Arif Oğuz Toper pulled a muscle in his back after 58 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 59 minutes, Ceyhan Cangiray mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Melikgazi and the MeskunMahall players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of MeskunMahall booed when Melikgazi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ceyhan Cangiray didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yağız Akkın was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The MeskunMahall players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
