Hamdullah Akaltan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seyfullah Tüzel in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, FENERBAHÇE SK's goal looked a bit too open when Yağızalp Akdoğu came free, but Hamdullah Akaltan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, FENERBAHÇE SK's Hamdullah Akaltan got control of the ball when Ecevit Sureha tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Ankaragücü booed when FENERBAHÇE SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alkın Bahadıroğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Sergen Şahiner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FENERBAHÇE SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ankaragücü the free kick. Demiralp Polathan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anıl Arda Uzgoren went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Hamdullah Akaltan made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Ecevit Sureha sent off a good shot on target. If Anıl Arda Uzgoren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ankaragücü getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Necip Fazıl Çakıroğlu hit a great ball. Musa Urza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demiralp Polathan having to interfere. In the 28thth minute of the game Anıl Arda Uzgoren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ankaragücü's Demiralp Polathan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35th minute, Ankaragücü's Yağızalp Akdoğu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hamdullah Akaltan. Hamdullah Akaltan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Hamdullah Akaltan came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ankaragücü's Yiğit Tayfur. But to his dismay, Yiğit Tayfur quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anıl Arda Uzgoren in the 41st minute of play forced Ankaragücü's goalkeeper Demiralp Polathan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FENERBAHÇE SK's Çelikan Duran got a free kick in the 43rd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anıl Arda Uzgoren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anıl Arda Uzgoren struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Demiralp Polathan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FENERBAHÇE SK. Demiralp Polathan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anıl Arda Uzgoren in the 57th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ankaragücü's Demiralp Polathan got control of the ball when Paşa Salat tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anıl Arda Uzgoren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Demiralp Polathan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, FENERBAHÇE SK's goal looked a bit too open when Seyfullah Tüzel came free, but Hamdullah Akaltan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hamdullah Akaltan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seyfullah Tüzel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Seyfullah Tüzel notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of FENERBAHÇE SK's Hamdullah Akaltan. Hamdullah Akaltan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ankaragücü's Demiralp Polathan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Ankaragücü from getting a goal against them. In the 96th minute, Paşa Salat made a precise shot to the right of Demiralp Polathan. Ankaragücü's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ankaragücü had won after a very even match.
