Burhan Çelik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Özgün Mert's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Özgün Mert notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cihangir SK's Burhan Çelik. Burhan Çelik was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Rumelikavagi SK fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Rumelikavagi SK's Özgün Mert looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Burhan Çelik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Özgün Mert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 46 minutes of play, Rumelikavagi SK's Bora Han Akdoğan made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Burhan Çelik was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Özgün Mert to strike the kick off in the second half. When Özgün Mert came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Rumelikavagi SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Özgün Mert couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Cihangir SK's zone, Özgün Mert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Burhan Çelik came out of the goal and Özgün Mert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kerimhan Ortaçgil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kerimhan Ortaçgil got free with Burhan Çelik in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Özgün Mert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burhan Çelik having to interfere. With a little luck, Cihangir SK's Burhan Çelik got control of the ball when Kerimhan Ortaçgil tried to sneak it across the goal line. Özgün Merts short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Burhan Çelik to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Korkut Çelebioğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Galip Taşdan in the 85th minute of the match. If Kerimhan Ortaçgil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Özgün Mert in the 94th minute of play forced Cihangir SK's goalkeeper Burhan Çelik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Rumelikavagi SK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cihangir SK throughout the match.
