Kutluay Özbek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Şeray Yaruk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Kavak's Zekeriya Vehbi got a free kick in the 19th minute. Bilge Ozan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yunus Alişan having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Hasan Tahsin Erentürk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kavak's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Akrepsporu the free kick. Kutluay Özbek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Orbay Akartürk went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Akrepsporu's zone, Orbay Akartürk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kutluay Özbek came out of the goal and Orbay Akartürk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melih Niğdeli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kutluay Özbek having to interfere. Kutluay Özbek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yıldırım Kürşat in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the Akrepsporu defense, Melih Niğdeli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kutluay Özbek. The Akrepsporu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kutluay Özbek should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orbay Akartürk in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kutluay Özbek saved Akrepsporu from getting behind. Melih Niğdeli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kutluay Özbek having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Zekeriya Vehbi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kavak's supporters rose to their feet, but Zekeriya Vehbi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kutluay Özbek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Kavak booed when Akrepsporu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Güneş Aydoğdu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kutluay Özbek was a little too slow when Hasan Tahsin Erentürk got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-3. 59 minutes into the match, Akrepsporu's goal looked a bit too open when Melih Niğdeli came free, but Kutluay Özbek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yunus Alişan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şeray Yaruk in the 62nd minute of the match. Hasan Tahsin Erentürk might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kutluay Özbek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hasan Tahsin Erentürk ran back to his position shaking his head. Zekeriya Vehbi struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Kutluay Özbek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kavak. When Kavak's Zekeriya Vehbi in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Akrepsporu's goalie prevented a goal. Melih Niğdeli received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kutluay Özbek came out and tried to block the shot, but Melih Niğdeli slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 84th minute. If Melih Niğdeli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zekeriya Vehbi in the 92nd minute of play forced Akrepsporu's goalkeeper Kutluay Özbek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
