Özden Hicran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rahmi Karun in the 31st minute of the match. Enginalp Kırca might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Egemen Gümüşcüoğlu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enginalp Kırca ran back to his position shaking his head. 37 minutes into the match, Diyarbakirspor's goalkeeper Egemen Gümüşcüoğlu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Can Sami. Ulus's Enginalp Kırca got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Can Sami in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Egemen Gümüşcüoğlu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Demir Acunalp hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ulus's Hazar Pekdemir tried to score from far away in the 45th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 47th match minute, Ulus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aytuğ Zeren to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute of the match Şakir Orkut sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Özden Hicran skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enginalp Kırca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Akif Koçaslan hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the match, Diyarbakirspor's goal looked a bit too open when Enginalp Kırca came free, but Egemen Gümüşcüoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ulus getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Can Sami hit a great ball. In the 71stth minute of the game Hacı Ali Civanbaht who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ulus's Özden Hicran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hacı Ali Civanbaht fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özden Hicran having to interfere. Aytuğ Zeren was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 74th minute, Aytuğ Zeren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ulus's goalkeeper Özden Hicran, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Yavuz Selimhan Togay fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diyarbakirspor's protests and gave Yavuz Selimhan Togay a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ulus's Enginalp Kırca got a free kick in the 96th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Diyarbakirspor eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
