The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nejat Alp Urgun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nadir Kutlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Samir Dizdar charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Elazigspor JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kuddusî Paşa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nejat Alp Urgun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nejat Alp Urgun came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Elazigspor JK's Haşmet Attar. But to his dismay, Haşmet Attar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of LOS GALACTİCOS booed when Elazigspor JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basri Olcaytu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nejat Alp Urgun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haşmet Attar, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. LOS GALACTİCOS's Nejat Alp Urgun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haşmet Attar in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Kuddusî Paşa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Elazigspor JK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LOS GALACTİCOS the free kick. Kuddusî Paşa kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Nejat Alp Urgun successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Emrullah Songün's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ardahan İnanoğlu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Ardahan İnanoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serkan Mümtaz in the 37th minute of play. After 38 minutes, Nadir Kutlu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Elazigspor JK and the LOS GALACTİCOS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Nadir Kutlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kuddusî Paşa struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Nejat Alp Urgun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elazigspor JK. With a little luck, LOS GALACTİCOS's Nejat Alp Urgun got control of the ball when Kuddusî Paşa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kuddusî Paşa got his second yellow card in the match during the 42nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 43rd match minute, Elazigspor JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kuddusî Paşa to maneuver through the defense. Emrullah Songün sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bülent Adıyaman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serkan Mümtaz to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Emrullah Songün managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nadir Kutlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, LOS GALACTİCOS's goal looked a bit too open when Haşmet Attar came free, but Nejat Alp Urgun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Haşmet Attar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nejat Alp Urgun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
