Spectators: 7233 (Terracing: 5460, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hayri Özek started the match with the kick off. In the 3rdth minute of the game Alim Tanın who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catak's Yağızalp Yaltır was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 9th minute, Alim Tanın ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yağızalp Yaltır was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Galatasaray's Ahmet Ozan Patlar suffered a sore foot after 13 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Dinç Ademoğlu charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinç Ademoğlu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a little luck, Catak's Yağızalp Yaltır got control of the ball when Alim Tanın tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute, Alim Tanın got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alim Tanın fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yağızalp Yaltır having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Catak got a freekick which was hit by Hayri Özek. Yağızalp Yaltır made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alim Tanın in the 33rd minute. Catak's Yağızalp Yaltır proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Catak from getting a goal against them. Dinç Ademoğlu hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. A collision led to Galatasaray getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Raşit Rasim hit a great ball. Yağızalp Yaltır was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alim Tanın showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 42 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alim Tanın to make the kick off. If Alim Tanın had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Raşit Rasim came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Galatasaray fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raşit Rasim couldn't finish the play. If Şemsettin Arkan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Alim Tanın shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yağızalp Yaltır saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alim Tanın sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Kandemir Çınar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinç Ademoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Catak's goalkeeper Yağızalp Yaltır, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alim Tanın might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yağızalp Yaltır. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alim Tanın ran back to his position shaking his head. 96 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's Alim Tanın sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yağızalp Yaltır narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Galatasaray walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
