Cerit's Hadi Pekiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Affan Tanzer in the 30th minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Recep Tayyip Erem was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cerit's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sivasspor the free kick. The supporters of Sivasspor booed when Cerit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Recep Tayyip Erem didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Murat Kerim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cerit's supporters rose to their feet, but Murat Kerim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mevlüt Tozan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Murat Kerim fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cerit's protests and gave Murat Kerim a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cerit getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Murat Kerim hit a great ball. When Erbatur Altınpınar came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Sivasspor fans jumped to their feet. Enginsu Özinal hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Hadi Pekiner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Affan Tanzer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Erbatur Altınpınar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sivasspor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sivasspor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
