Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gaffar Yaren got the match started through his kick off. Çakır Başesgioğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaffar Yaren in the 11th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Gönen FK's goal looked a bit too open when Gaffar Yaren came free, but Çakır Başesgioğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Ahmet Kutsi Tanbay recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Semi Tahsin. Ahmet Kutsi Tanbay showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Yavru Kaplanlar's zone, Mehmet Karluk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Semi Tahsin came out of the goal and Mehmet Karluk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmet Kutsi Tanbay was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 30th minute. Gönen FK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Tarkan Verim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yavru Kaplanlar's supporters rose to their feet, but Tarkan Verim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Çakır Başesgioğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gaffar Yaren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmet Kutsi Tanbay was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Barış Aksoy during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gönen FK's Barış Aksoy got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute of the match, Okan Kutlar tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Çakır Başesgioğlu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hasan Can Tankut fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Çakır Başesgioğlu having to interfere. 66 minutes into the game, Gönen FK's Mehmet Karluk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Semi Tahsin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 69 played minutes Yavru Kaplanlar got a freekick which was hit by Okan Kutlar. Okan Kutlar hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 73rdth minute of the game Mehmet Karluk who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yavru Kaplanlar's Semi Tahsin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Gönen FK booed when Yavru Kaplanlar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarkan Verim didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Gönen FK's goal looked a bit too open when Gaffar Yaren came free, but Çakır Başesgioğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaffar Yaren might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Çakır Başesgioğlu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gaffar Yaren ran back to his position shaking his head. Gaffar Yaren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute Ahmet Kutsi Tanbay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Semi Tahsin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 98th minute, Yavru Kaplanlar's Gaffar Yaren ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Çakır Başesgioğlu. Çakır Başesgioğlu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Many of Yavru Kaplanlar's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Yavru Kaplanlar may have spent more time on the ball, but Gönen FK were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
