Ertuğrul İlkcan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Denizlispor's goalkeeper Rafettin İğdemir had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adem Ulukan. If Gökcan Eymen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Adem Ulukan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Adem Ulukan came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Gençlerbirliği fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adem Ulukan couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute, Uğurcan Erenoz fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Rafettin Ergazi made in the 43rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Denizlispor's Ali Berkant Torkal. When Adem Ulukan came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Gençlerbirliği fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adem Ulukan couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ahmet Ege Nasuh to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Gençlerbirliği's Uğurcan Erenoz got a free kick in the 50th minute. If Ahmet Ege Nasuh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adem Ulukan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Rafettin İğdemir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafettin İğdemir didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adem Ulukan went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 70th minute Adem Ulukan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafettin İğdemir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Gençlerbirliği defense, Ahmet Ege Nasuh kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ertuğrul İlkcan. The Gençlerbirliği fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ertuğrul İlkcan should have stopped the shot. Ahmet Ege Nasuh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Ertuğrul İlkcan made a huge save. Umut Haşmetli was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Gençlerbirliği's Umut Haşmetli got a free kick in the 81st minute. Koray Yuvakuran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ertuğrul İlkcan having to interfere. When Ahmet Ege Nasuh fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denizlispor's protests and gave Ahmet Ege Nasuh a yellow card for diving instead. Denizlispor's Rafettin İğdemir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gökcan Eymen in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of Denizlispor booed when Gençlerbirliği was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zühtü Yalap didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Denizlispor walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
