Behzat Erboy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Ataol Tugal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ataol Tugal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Akil Atlıhan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Batur Kutulmuş hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Orbay Direnç during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Esentepe getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Orbay Direnç hit a great ball. Bedih İlmi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berkem Hançer, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 12th match minute, Fenerbahçe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Batur Kutulmuş to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Esentepe's Çağatay Babacan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 15th match minute, Fenerbahçe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hüsamettin Batı to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 17 minutes, Akil Atlıhan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esentepe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Akil Atlıhan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Akil Atlıhan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute of the match Çağatay Babacan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ataol Tugal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fenerbahçe's Ataol Tugal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Behzat Erboy in the 31st minute of play. In the 35th match minute, Esentepe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emir Mertkan to maneuver through the defense. Ataol Tugal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Behzat Erboy in the 46th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Akil Atlıhan made a kick off. If Behzat Erboy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. Fenerbahçe's Berkem Hançer got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 70th match minute, Esentepe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orbay Direnç to maneuver through the defense. When Genco Cezri came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Fenerbahçe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genco Cezri couldn't finish the play. Fenerbahçe's Ataol Tugal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Fenerbahçe from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Fenerbahçe's zone, Akil Atlıhan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ataol Tugal came out of the goal and Akil Atlıhan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 80 minutes into the game, Behzat Erboy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ataol Tugal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Behzat Erboy took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ataol Tugal. Ataol Tugal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. An unexpected shot in the 86th minute by Behzat Erboy got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ataol Tugal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Akil Atlıhan in the 91st minute of play. After having played for 92 minutes, Behzat Erboy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
