With an extended leg and a bit of luck Asım Baytugay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Selmi Sehriyar had great luck who in the 7thth minute grab hold of the ball when Batı Birtan from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 8th of the match, Batı Birtan tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Selmi Sehriyar got in the way and made a wonderful save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tolgahan Tahsin got free with Selmi Sehriyar in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Batı Birtan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Asım Baytugay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bora Akyazı in the 23rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tolgahan Tahsin got free with Selmi Sehriyar in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Igdir JK's Selmi Sehriyar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Batı Birtan in the 30th minute of play. Selmi Sehriyar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Batı Birtan's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Selmi Sehriyar was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tümer Övünç. 35 minutes into the game, Durmuş Şemseddin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gevas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Igdir JK the free kick. 37 minutes into the match, Bora Akyazı notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gevas's Asım Baytugay. Asım Baytugay was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Batı Birtan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tolgahan Tahsin might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Selmi Sehriyar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tolgahan Tahsin ran back to his position shaking his head. Batı Birtan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Batı Birtan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Batı Birtan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Selmi Sehriyar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 60th minute, Batı Birtan made a precise shot to the right of Selmi Sehriyar. Igdir JK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 71 minutes into the game, Bora Akyazı was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Igdir JK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gevas the free kick. The supporters of Gevas booed when Igdir JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bora Akyazı didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Batı Birtan put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Selmi Sehriyar. After 75 played minutes Gevas got a freekick which was hit by Durmuş Şemseddin. When Tugay Ekinoğlu came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Igdir JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tugay Ekinoğlu couldn't finish the play. Selmi Sehriyar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Batı Birtan's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Batı Birtan in the 80th minute of play forced Igdir JK's goalkeeper Selmi Sehriyar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Onurhan Temizöz fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Igdir JK's protests and gave Onurhan Temizöz a yellow card for diving instead. After 80 played minutes Igdir JK got a freekick which was hit by Onurhan Temizöz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Batı Birtan in the 84th minute of play forced Igdir JK's goalkeeper Selmi Sehriyar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Igdir JK getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Doğuş Kırdar hit a great ball. Selmi Sehriyar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Batı Birtan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gevas's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
