The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Istanbul's Mahir Polat got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Istanbul's Saruhan Ermiye got a free kick in the 20th minute. Göksun Denizalp was extremely unlucky when he, in the 22nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Göksun Denizalp received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alişan Cihaner came out and tried to block the shot, but Göksun Denizalp slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 25th minute. Mahir Polat might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Necati Orhun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mahir Polat ran back to his position shaking his head. 29 minutes into the match, Berkem Gülerce had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Necati Orhun. KÖSEDERE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Berkem Gülerce was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berkem Gülerce in the 38th minute of play forced KÖSEDERE's goalkeeper Necati Orhun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mahir Polat in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Necati Orhun saved KÖSEDERE from getting behind. After the first half Istanbul were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Berkem Gülerce made the kick off in the second half. Mahir Polat who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Necati Orhun when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Necati Orhun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bahadır Altıparmak in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th match minute, Istanbul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berkem Gülerce to maneuver through the defense. Mahir Polat might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Necati Orhun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mahir Polat ran back to his position shaking his head. Necati Orhun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berkem Gülerce in the 57th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Necati Orhun successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saruhan Ermiye in the 64th minute of play forced KÖSEDERE's goalkeeper Necati Orhun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ali Galip Ergüner charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ali Galip Ergüner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, KÖSEDERE's Ali Galip Ergüner got a free kick in the 65th minute. Alişan Cihaner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Necdet Arısan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71stth minute of the game Berkem Gülerce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KÖSEDERE's Necati Orhun was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 72 minutes into the match, KÖSEDERE's goal looked a bit too open when Berkem Gülerce came free, but Necati Orhun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mahir Polat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Necati Orhun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Necati Orhun was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Berkem Gülerce showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 77 minute of play. Ali Asım Raid hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Necati Orhun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berkem Gülerce in the 90th minute of the match.
