The audience was convinced that Fazıl Kutertan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rahim Ergümen was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Kandilli SK's Rahim Ergümen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by İsmail Köksan in the 26th minute of play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Tepecik booed when Kandilli SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mesut Ramazan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Durmuş Kayansel was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 36th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Meriç Pamiroğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kandilli SK's Rahim Ergümen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durmuş Kayansel in the 38th minute of play. Rahim Ergümen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İsmail Köksan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fazıl Kutertan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ufuk Ulunay struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Battal Cüneyt Tamer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kandilli SK. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fazıl Kutertan to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Meriç Pamiroğlu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Battal Cüneyt Tamer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. İsmail Köksan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rahim Ergümen having to interfere. After 62 minutes, Durmuş Kayansel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tepecik and the Kandilli SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Durmuş Kayansel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If İsmail Köksan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Behçet İlenç managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kandilli SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Behçet İlenç was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Battal Cüneyt Tamer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Kandilli SK had won after a very even match.
