Mustafa Ali Üstün charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mustafa Ali Üstün the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Konyaspor booed when Güvenevler SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Ali Üstün didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aytuğ Tandoğan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Alkan Balabey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baykan Talaş was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. With his leg Baykan Talaş managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Konyaspor's Münir Dinç fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Baykan Talaş made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Münir Dinç sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alkan Balabey in the 43rd minute of play forced Güvenevler SK's goalkeeper Baykan Talaş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Behlül Refiğ was the one to do the kick off. Mehmet Şefik Özçin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alkan Balabey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baykan Talaş read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Alkan Balabey put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Baykan Talaş. Mehmet Şefik Özçin in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kutlu Övünç, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Baykan Talaş showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Münir Dinç, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Güvenevler SK's Behlül Refiğ got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Konyaspor players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
