Birol Hazer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Birol Hazer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdülhak Koray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Çelik Eldemir fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Unkapani's protests and gave Çelik Eldemir a yellow card for diving instead. Birol Hazer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ersin Acaroğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ahmet Korkut Hayırlı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Numan Taşel having to interfere. A collision led to Unkapani getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Abdi Bintuğ hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdülhak Koray in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Birol Hazer saved Unkapani from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdülhak Koray to make the kick off. Ersin Acaroğlu might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Birol Hazer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Unkapani's Celal Özdoğan got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in AYAK FC's zone, Mustafa Ali Tümenbay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mustafa Numan Taşel came out of the goal and Mustafa Ali Tümenbay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 90 minutes into the match, AYAK FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celal Özdoğan came free, but Mustafa Numan Taşel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ersin Acaroğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birol Hazer having to interfere. The AYAK FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AYAK FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
